The NESS Initiative has, thus far, been highlighted in many articles, including one in CAJE's Jewish Education News (Winter, 2006) and has been discussed at the Jewish Funders Network and the Coaches Institute conducted by the JESNA Center for Excellence in Congregational Education. Plans have been made to facilitate the replication and dissemination of the NESS Initiative. The program as a whole is comprehensive and expensive to reproduce; however, the preparatory work that the Auerbach Central Agency for Jewish Education has done should reduce the expenses that other communities will incur in implementing a program of this kind. ACAJE will share its experience and teacher training materials with other communities and will also make the lay leadership and other professional training materials available. A report on the pilot study of the NESS Initiative will be disseminated nationally by ACAJE. Finally, ACAJE will assist leaders in Jewish education in their efforts to implement the NESS Initiative in their communities.
The Bureau of Jewish Education in San Francisco is the first community to be chosen to replicate the NESS Initiative. Implementation will begin in September, 2008.
