ISRAEL: People, Places and Mitzvot Curriculum

The Israel: People, Places and Mitzvot Curriculum outline follows a two-week summer program in Israel for Jewish educators from Greater Philadelphia in 1997 and was generously supported by Dina and Jerry Wind.

This curriculum presents the itinerary (places) and people the group met at each site, and focuses on the mitzvot that they inspire.  Some activities refer to specific projects on file in the Seidman Educational Resource Center, but most can be duplicated on the basis of the resources and materials noted.

The Israel: People, Places and Mitzvot Curriculum is posted here as a model and it is our hope that it inspires others to look at the teaching of Israel as an integral part of the entire school  curriculum.  We thank the authors Susan Edelstein and Mimi Polin Ferraro for sharing their work.
