*Auschwitz: Inside the Nazi State, six-hour PBS special, will be aired Wednesdays January 19 and 26, and February 2 from 9 to 11 PM.
Complete teaching guides for each of the six-hour episodes, will be found at http://www.pbs.org/auschwitz/ beginning January 12.
*Jewish Partisan Educational Foundation has expanded its website to include six short documentary films as well as oral testimonies and study guides. See www.jewishpartisans.org .
*March of the Living 2005, 60 th anniversary of the liberation of Europe, will be held May 2-16. Deadline for applications is extended to January 20, 2005. Please contact Rabbi Bruce Aft at Bsmaam@aol.com or 703-866-5531.
*Mordechai Anielewicz Creative Arts Competition (for students in grades 9-12) deadline is March 7, 2005. Submit visual art entries to Josey Fisher at ACAJE. Submit writing, music and dance entries to Marlena Kleit, JCRC, 2100 Arch Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
*Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation = s newly developed website www.vhf.org includes interactive online exhibits and free educational resources. Classroom teachers may also request tapes of interview segments to supplement their individual classroom unit (for a $35 fee plus shipping). Please contact Coordinator of Educational Access at education@vhf.org or at 818-777-6763.
*Yad Vashem -- New Central Database ( www.yadvashem.org ) of Shoah Victims' Names contains records of over 3 million individuals who perished during the Holocaust. For suggested classroom strategies, see http://acaje.notss.com/content/holocaust/articles/IntStrat.shtml .
*Yom HaShoah begins at sundown Thursday, May 5, 2005. Community observance will be held on Sunday, April 17 at the Monument to the Six Million Martyrs, 16 th Street and the Parkway. To arrange for students in Jewish schools to meet in informal discussion groups with survivors before the ceremony, please contact Marlena R. Kleit, JCRC, 215-832-0655.
