The Seidman Educational Resource Center ( "SERC") of the Auerbach Central Agency for Jewish Education ( "ACAJE") serves as the informational gateway for the Jewish educational community of Greater Philadelphia. Using the latest technology, SERC brings the current creative and diverse Jewish educational resources of ACAJE and the Internet to Jewish educators, parents and lay leaders.
to encourage educational directors, teachers, youth leaders, and others to use its resources in their classrooms, youth groups, and beyond, to promote creative, innovative and dynamic teaching, learning and programming;
to enhance the work of ACAJE consultation staff;
to collect specialized library collections for use by educators in the field and to support the work of the ACAJE consultation staff;
to disseminate to the Jewish educational community Jewish perspectives on current issues.
The Seidman Educational Resource Center is the materials and reference hub of the Auerbach Central Agency for Jewish Education.
SERC's ever growing collections of print (more than19,000 items), videos and DVD's (more than 1,250 items), audio and computer resources enable educators to review the most up-to-date Jewish educational materials.
SERC professionals provide guidance to those who use the Center, helping them select the most appropriate materials for their needs.
SERC edits and monitors the extensive agency website, www.acaje.org. It also produces SERC SITES – a monthly e-mail update containing information about topics of interest on the web to the Jewish educational community, and ACAJE UPDATE – a monthly e-mail calendar of upcoming events at Auerbach CAJE and the community.
